How much is a lease on a $30,000 car?
Not a calculator estimate: what the manufacturers are actually charging for cars at this price in November 2026, and what that comes to once the amount due at signing is counted.
Figures from the November 2026 manufacturer lease programs LeaseCheetah tracks.
The short answer
Manufacturers are advertising 26 cars stickered between $27,500 and $32,500 this month. The typical one is advertised at $284 a month with $3,999 due at signing. Spread that across the lease and it costs $379 a month — the number to compare quotes against.
The cheapest is the Nissan Altima ($29,510 sticker): $229 a month with $3,319 due, $315 a month all-in. As a rule of thumb that works at any price, a lease costs about $13.07 a month for every $1,000 of sticker price once the amount due is counted — $10.27 on the advertised payment alone.

The same measure across the market. Real cost runs from $11.96 to $14.39 a month per $1,000 of sticker price, the most at $85,000–$100,000: a pricier car doesn’t just cost more to lease, it can cost more for every dollar of its price.

Why the advertised payment isn’t the answer
The typical lease at this price asks $3,999 at signing, and the payment is low partly because of it. Two offers with the same payment can differ by thousands up front, so the only fair comparison is the real monthly cost. Our lease calculator works it out for a quote you’ve been given, and the 1% rule page shows how few offers meet the popular rule of thumb once it’s counted.
Method, and how to cite this
- Sticker price is the one in the manufacturer’s own offer terms — usually including destination — for the exact vehicle the payment is quoted on. We found one in 2,762 of the 3,191 current offers available to anyone; Audi, Ford, Lexus, Lincoln, Subaru, Tesla don’t state one and aren’t included.
- Real cost spreads the amount due at signing across the term, counting the first payment it includes once.
- Offers restricted to current owners, lessees or employees are left out. Taxes and dealer fees are not in any manufacturer’s advertised figures, so they aren’t here either.
